muñja, m. "sounding, rustling (?)", a species of rush or sedge-like grass, Saccharum Sara or Munja (which grows to the height of 10 feet, and is used in basketwork) ŚBr. &c. &c.; the Brāhmanical girdle formed of Munja (cf. mauñja Mn. ii, 27, 42 &c.) an arrow(?) W.; N. of a king of Dhārā Daśar.; of a prince of Campā Piṅg. Sch.; of a man with the patr. Sāmaśirsvasa ShaḍvBr.; of a Brāhman MBh.; of various authors &c. Cat.; (ā) f. N. of a river VP.; = m.
